Windows 10 is Microsoft’s latest desktop platform. It is currently a free upgrade for computers that currently have Windows 7/8/8.1 installed. The primary reason to move forward with this upgrade is that eventually Microsoft will cease to support the other operating systems previously mentioned.
Here are a few tips before you proceed with an upgrade to Windows 10.
- Make sure that your applications are compatible with Windows 10.
Some software vendors still have compatibility issues with Windows 10 and their programs will not function correctly. It is best to wait for their “OK” before you proceed with this upgrade. - Backup your entire system data and state.
In case of any errors having a proper backup will allow you to revert back, better safe than sorry. - If you currently watch DVD movies on your system you will need to install a 3rd party player after the update.
